Retail Traineeships
A
nationally recognised course of study enabling the participant
on completion to achieve an industry endorsed qualification.
Participants can include employees who may be new to the retail
industry or existing employees looking to upgrade their qualification.
Delivery can be on the job by way of self paced resources with
regular trainer contact. Alternatively where a number of participants
from the same organisation undertake the study, facilitated
training may be able to be presented.
These programs are government funded which in most cases can
enable the participant to undertake the study with minimal investment.
There are three certificate levels available:
Certificate II in Retail Operations
Designed to be the entry level qualification to
the retail industry.
Participants will learn:
- Customer Service
- Visual Merchandising
- Sales Skills
- Stock Control
- Communication Skills
- Housekeeping; Point of Sale operation
- Loss Prevention.
Speciality areas also exist in Fresh Food & Administration.
Certificate III in Retail Operations &/or Supervision
Designed to be undertaken by supervisors or by those
aspiring managers.
Participants will learn:
- Coaching & Leading Work Teams
- Employment & Award Conditions
- Coordination of Housekeeping
- Maintain Store Safety & Security
Specialty electives the exist in Training, Stock
Control, and Sales & Product Knowledge.
Certificate IV in Retail Management
Designed to be undertaken by existing managers and
leaders.
Participants will learn:
- Implement Staff Training
- Lead & Manage People
- Manage Sales & Service Delivery
- Administer Human Resources Policy
- Recruit & Select Personal
- Manage Financial Resources.
Specialty areas also exist in Merchandise, Store
Security, Inventory & Payroll.
