What will it cost to enrol?

You are required to pay a tuition fee. Material fees may also be required for some courses. All fees need to be paid before classes can commence. If you need assistance with your fees please give us a call to discuss further.

Course fees for 2010 are available now.

Tuition fees are calculated according to the level of course a student is undertaking.

Materials Fees

Materials fees may be required by the student during the course of your study. Materials purchased will be the property of the participant. These materials may be available through commercial suppliers. Students have the right to purchase these goods from whichever source they choose. Refund and exchange policies applicable to these goods are determined by the relevant supplier.

In the case of Skills Deepening courses (Diplomas), printed course material is not an allowable material fee unless it is made available to the student to download free of charge, and the student chooses to pay for a printed copy.

Fees applicable to Concession Students – excluding Skills Deepening (Diploma)

Concessions

Students can see the appropriate concession fees associated to the course type in the information provided above. Students can apply for concessions where they can prove that they are:
• Receiving government benefits, pensions or allowances
• The dependant spouse of a person who is receiving government benefits, pensions or allowances
• The dependant child of parents who are receiving government benefits, pension or allowances

NB: Concessions are not applicable for Skills Deepening Courses.

The person in receipt of the government benefit must hold one of the following cards:
• Commonwealth Health Care Card
• Pensioner Card
• Veteran’s Gold Card

Proof of pension/allowance status has to be verified on the ‘Application for Minimum Tuition Contribution’ on the back of the Enrolment form.

Prisoners and Koories enrolled in government funded courses are charged no fees.

Health Care Card Concessions

Students with a valid Health Care Card are entitled to a concession at enrolment when fees are paid.
If a student obtains a valid Health Care Card after enrolment and payment of full fees, the student may apply for a refund at any time in the year of their enrolment.

Fees in relation to skills recognition (Recognition of Prior Learning – RPL)

Skills Recognition or RPL means that skills, experience and knowledge you already have can be assessed for credit against a qualification. This can occur either before or after your enrolment.

Applicants for RPL who are not eligible for government subsidised training (for Skills Deepening Courses) will pay the published fees.
If you have already paid the maximum tuition fee, there is no further charge for a recognition application in other units or modules.

You can apply for RPL in whole units of competency of modules – not parts of units or modules.

Fee Refunds

• 100 percent refund if the institute cancels your course.
• 100 percent refund of all fees paid if you apply for a transfer to another educational institute within four weeks of the commencement of your course. The letter of offer from the institution must be lodged with the refund/withdrawal application.
• If you lodge a withdrawal/refund application within four weeks of the commencement of your course for any other reason, you are entitled to the refund of your tuition fees, materials fees and Student Services & Amenities fee, and ancillary fee (less an administrative fee of ($50).
• You are not entitled to any refund if you withdraw later than four weeks after the commencement of your course.
• If you lodge a withdrawal/refund application from a Skills Deepening unit of study on or before the published Census Date for that Unit, you will receive a 100 percent refund of the tuition fees (this also applies to Skills Deepening students who meet the citizenship requirements but who have been deemed not eligible for a government subsidised place).
• If you lodge a withdrawal/refund application from a Skills Deepening course within four weeks of the commencement of your course, you are entitled to a refund of your material fees, Student Services & Amenities fees, and ancillary fee (less an administrative fee of $50).

• Youth Allowance/Austudy/Abstudy
The main income support schemes for students are Youth Allowance, Austudy and Abstudy. Application forms are available from any Centrelink office or phone 132 490.

• Pensioner Education Supplement
If you receive a Parenting Payment Single (PPS) or the Disability Support Pension (DPS), you may also be eligible for extra assistance while you are studying. Application forms are available from Centrelink or phone 132 316.
